1. My design is a sunflower shaped tile. It has 3 levels, starting low in the middle and getting higher as you get closer to the edge.
2. There are several Elements and Principles used in this piece are color, texture, and emphasis. The petals on the flower are yellow. The pattern and holes in the middle bring more emphasis to that part and then your eyes naturally look at the color on the outside.
3.The piece has no concrete meaning, as i chose to make it because I saw many of my classmates were drawing flowers on a slab of clay, however I wanted to change things a bit so i decided to make my piece into the whole flower head. I guess you could call it a spin-off of what my classmates did.
4.I think that although this piece isn't terrible, it's not great either. I feel like it is too uneven and the petals are both too small and too uneven to really look good.
